When Daily News Gets Saucy

The Daily ketchup news podcast cover Singapore

The Daily Ketchup is a popular podcast in Singapore.

Singapore podcast The Daily Ketchup is described as ‘daily news with a little bit of sauce.

Well, if the episode titles are anything to go by, it’s on the spicy side of life.

Enticing titles include: If you think your partner is cheating you’re probably right, 8 Things Guys Can Do to Glow Up, Is your personality killing your love life? The unexpected truth about vaping, Singapore Idol Judge accused of molesting 25-year-old woman, and more!

While some of the themes and topics aren’t as newsworthy as others, the description of the podcast gives its panel of hosts a chance to candidly chat about the themes or issues that are relevant to its audience.

Things get pretty lively with multiple ideas and thoughts that get bounced around the table with episodes rolled out every second day, rather than ‘daily’ as might be inferred by the title.

Doubling up on content, or rather, maximising their output across podcast and YouTube where the team started originally, The Daily Ketchup on the video platform has more than 60 thousand followers, and the show was launched off the back of their earlier success with their YouTube channel, Real Talk.

YouTube is now capitalising on the diverse content produced by podcasters and has found a way to remain relevant to the shifting nature of how audiences are consuming content and now offer dual outputs of audio and video, which helps to keep its content producers on the platform without the need for them to go anywhere else.

If you’re interested in the more saucy side of news that verges more on lifestyle and relationships, then The Daily Ketchup offers ‘hot off the press gossip and views’ on news in Singapore, and then some without ever getting too heavy.
